What research says about scalp microneedling

Microneedling rolls very fine needles over the skin to create controlled micro-channels. The scalp's natural repair response to these channels — which involves growth factors and signalling pathways linked to the hair cycle — is triggered by the micro-channels themselves, so it doesn't depend on applying any product. Researchers have studied scalp microneedling both on its own and alongside topical hair treatments; a well-known randomised trial (Dhurat et al., Int J Trichology, 2013) reported greater improvement in hair count when microneedling was added to a topical. Choosing your needle length
